This lecture covers the stellarator and other magnetic plasma confinement schemes as alternatives to tokamak devices, discussing 2D and 3D magnetic toroidal configurations, stellarators' helical 3D magnetic field, pros and cons, brief history, and the LHD and Wendelstein 7X stellarators.
