This lecture introduces the DEM program, a collaboration between EPFL and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, focusing on enhancing scientific research and higher education in Africa. It covers the pillars for sustainable impact, including junior faculty development, 100 doctorates for Africa, and digital education. The general objectives include adopting a learner-centered approach, developing learners' skills, and integrating digital content and technologies. The teaching team consists of experts from EPFL and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. The training program comprises 10 modules, practical training, working on personal courses, and support from facilitators. Partner universities include institutions from Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Senegal, and Cote d'Ivoire. Join the journey towards academic excellence!
