Integrated Supply Chain Management: Green Chemistry

This lecture introduces the concept of integrated supply chain management (SCM) in the context of green chemistry, focusing on the efficient use of resources and waste reduction. It explores the networks of industrial systems where waste from one process becomes a resource for another, emphasizing the conservation of materials and resources. Examples from big chemical companies and networks of different companies are discussed, along with the principles of green chemistry and the elements of integrated SCM. The lecture also covers the four main groups of output materials in SCM, including products, raw materials, co-products, by-products, and residual products, highlighting the importance of resource efficiency and waste valorization.
