This lecture covers the application of linear shell theory to study the inflation/deflation of spherical shells under pressure loading, as well as the analysis of membrane forces in spherical shell structures considering hydrostatic and snow loads. The displacement field of spherical shells due to inflation/deflation is determined using theoretical models and equations.
