This lecture covers biomechanics at the tissue level, focusing on continuum mechanics and constitutive laws, both linear and non-linear. The compressive behavior of the meniscus and ligaments under traction are discussed, along with the challenges of soft tissues biomechanics. The treatment options for ACL rupture, including graft types and surgical approaches, are explored. Additionally, the lecture delves into soft tissue mechanical remodeling, stress-strain curves, and the mechanical descriptions of ligaments. Various parameters influencing stress-strain curves are evaluated, and the differences between linear elastic and non-linear elastic descriptions are explained. The viscoelastic and viscous behaviors of ligaments are also examined.
