This lecture covers the fundamentals of quantum mechanics, focusing on the step potential. Topics include momentum eigenstates, continuity equations for probability density, and solving the Schrödinger equation for different regions of the potential. Emphasis is placed on understanding wavefunctions and their behavior at the boundary of the step potential.
