This lecture explores the sorption and transport phenomena in cementitious materials, focusing on anomalous water transport and dynamic porosity in cement paste. The presentation delves into the investigation of gel-pore drying shrinkage in cement pastes using 1H NMR relaxometry. It also discusses the porosity relaxation measured by NMR and the mesoscale modeling of dynamic porosity in cement hydrate gel during a water sorption cycle. The lecture further covers the equilibrium pore size distribution, pore water fraction, and the parameters influencing pore relaxation time. Various samples dried for different durations are analyzed to understand the transport coefficients and porosity fractions in cementitious materials.
