This lecture covers the research process steps, types of variables (exogenous and endogenous), the difference between causality and correlation, and various sampling strategies such as stratified sampling, simple random sample, exogenously stratified sample, and endogenously stratified sample. It also explains pure choice-based sampling and provides examples to illustrate these concepts. The calculation of the probability of being drawn in different sampling strategies is detailed, along with a bibliography for further reading.
