This lecture introduces the concept of frames and machines, focusing on distributed forces and their effects on structures. The instructor explains how to analyze forces acting on each member of a structure and compute the components of these forces. Through examples and diagrams, students learn to determine the resultant of the load and the location of the action line for triangular line loads. The lecture also covers the equilibrium of forces, moment equations, and the distribution of internal forces in structures.
