This lecture introduces the measurement hardware, reviews the Hertz calculation, and demonstrates low resistance measurement using silver wires. The theory behind the measurement involves determining the real area of contact using analog electronics. The lecture covers the bulk conductivity of silver, Young's Modulus, and Poisson ratio. Students will estimate the junction resistance at different applied loads and prepare for a physical experiment remotely. The use of nanovoltmeter, current source, and multimeter is highlighted for low resistance measurements.
