This lecture covers the static loading test of a pile, including the purpose of the test, determination of load-settlement curve, ultimate axial external resistance, and settlement under long-term service load. Various loading methods and measurement devices are discussed, such as loading by dead weight, anchoring rods, and measurement devices like comparators and extensometers. The lecture also presents the measurement setup at EPFL, load-settlement curve analysis, and an example test conducted at the Coop center in Crissier.
