This lecture covers the anatomy of the abdominal wall, including the skin, superficial fascia, muscles, peritoneum, and visceral structures. It explains the arrangement of abdominal muscles, the role of mesenteries in suspending intraperitoneal structures, and the vascular supply to the small intestine. The dissection of the portal vein and superior mesenteric artery is demonstrated, along with the organization of the jejunum, ileum, and colon. The lecture also discusses the peritoneal ligaments, omenta, and their surgical relevance. Emphasis is placed on understanding the peritoneal cavity, its fluid dynamics, and the anatomical relationships of abdominal organs.
