Objectif MarsObjectif Mars is a steel multi-launched spinning coaster located at Futuroscope in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou, France. The coaster combines elements of a dark ride and educational technology in order to simulate a daring training session and mission to Mars. It can accommodate children as young as 5–6 years old, provided that they meet the height requirement. The concept of Objectif Mars was first brought to light in 1985, when esteemed park architect Denis Laming first brought up a pavilion named the Cœur Ludique de la Galaxie (translation; Playful Heart of the Galaxy), which would have featured a roller coaster themed to letting riders experience space travel.

Cerexhe was born on 18 April 1931 in Schaerbeek, Belgium. He had degrees from the Université catholique de Louvain and the University of Paris. Cerexhe had honorary doctorates from the University of Lisbon, University of Ouagadougou and University of Santiago.
David Bierens de HaanDavid Bierens de Haan (3 May 1822, in Amsterdam – 12 August 1895, in Leiden) was a Dutch mathematician and historian of science. Bierens de Haan was a son of the rich merchant Abraham Pieterszoon de Haan (1795–1880) and Catharina Jacoba Bierens (1797–1835). In 1843 he completed a study in the exact sciences and received his PhD from the University of Leiden in 1847 under Gideon Janus Verdam (1802–1866) for the work De Lemniscata Bernouillana. After this he became a teacher of physics and mathematics at a gymnasium in Deventer.

Becker was born in Hamburg. His studies in zoology started in 1906 at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, where he earned his doctorate in 1909 under August Weismann. After hearing lectures by Arnold Sommerfeld at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Becker turned his professional interest to physics.
