Holographic memories

Abstract

Holographic memories can be read-out either with the reference or the signal beam. Reference beam read-out reconstructs the stored data whereas signal beam read-out performs a search of the stored data base. This dual mode of holographic memories is explored for the various methods that have been developed for multiplexing holograms. ©2004 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.
