13th Demi-Brigade of the Foreign LegionThe 13th Demi-Brigade of Foreign Legion (13e Demi-Brigade de Légion Étrangère, 13e DBLE), was created in 1940 and was the main unit of the 1st Free French Division, Free French Forces (FFL). From the coast of Norway to Bir Hakeim, to Africa then the Alsace, while passing by Syria and Italy, the 13th Demi-Brigade would be part of most of the major campaigns of the French Army during the Second World War. After having been engaged in Indochina from 1946 to 1954, the 13e DBLE joined the Algerian War, and left in 1962.
Jean, Grand Duke of LuxembourgJean (Jean Benoît Guillaume Robert Antoine Louis Marie Adolphe Marc d'Aviano; 5 January 1921 – 23 April 2019) was the Grand Duke of Luxembourg from 1964 until his abdication in 2000. He was the first Grand Duke of Luxembourg of French agnatic descent. Jean was the eldest son of Grand Duchess Charlotte and Prince Felix. Jean's primary education was initially in Luxembourg, before attending Ampleforth College in England. In 1938, he was officially named Hereditary Grand Duke as heir-apparent to the throne of Luxembourg.
Pavlos ArgyriadisPavlos Argyriadis (birth name: Panagiotis Argyriadis, August 14, 1849, Kastoria - November 19, 1901, Paris) was a Greek lawyer, journalist and anarchist and socialist intellectual that was active in France during the late 19th century. He was born in Kastoria in 1849, probably in a wealthy family. He completed his high school studies in Istanbul and then studied law in Paris, where he became a lawyer after becoming a French citizen.
Soudan 2019, année zéroSoudan 2019, année zéro (transl. Sudan 2019, Year Zero) is a book about the Sudanese revolution, published in French in 2021. It contains descriptions, commentaries and photographs of the protestors' sit-in area during the weeks in May and June 2019 that led up to the Khartoum massacre. As additional visual documents, the book contains images by Sudanese documentary photographers, illustrating different stages and social backgrounds of the revolution up to the destruction of the sit-in by security forces on 3 June 2019.

The Nguyễn military force was initially formed by Nguyễn Hoàng as a division of the military of the Revival Lê dynasty in 1558 starting out with 3000 soldiers. During this period it was the military forces of the domain of the Nguyễn lords and commonly fought the Trịnh lords who controlled northern Vietnam.

Pierre Gamarra was born in Toulouse on 10 July 1919. From 1938 until 1940, he was a teacher in the South of France.
Mende, LozèreMende (mɑ̃d, ˈmende) is a commune and the prefecture of the department of Lozère, in the region of Occitania, Southern France. Its inhabitants are called the Mendois. The city, including the first traces of dwellings date back to 200 BC, was originally named Mimata, probably in reference to the mountains that surround it. Mende is located between Clermont-Ferrand and Montpellier, but also on the axis of Lyon–Saint-Étienne–Albi–Toulouse.
Louis Brion de la TourLouis Brion de la Tour, (circa 1743 – 1803) was an 18th-century French geographer and demographer. His family may have come from Bordeaux, having found asylum in Alsace when the Edict of Nantes was revoked by the Edict of Fontainebleau in 1685. Generally, authors were careful to differentiate him from the engraver Antoine Brion from Reims, born in 1739. He was perhaps his son. His official title was « Ingénieur Géographe du Roi » ("King's Engineer Geographer"). Although he was a prolific geographer, very little is known of his life or his career.
Blaise DiagneBlaise Diagne (13 October 1872 – 11 May 1934) was a French political leader and mayor of Dakar. He was the first person of West African origin elected to the French Chamber of Deputies, and the first to hold a position in the French government. Born in Gorée to a Senegalese Lebu father—Niokhor Diagne—a cook and sailor, and a Manjack mother of Guinea-Bissau origin—Gnagna Anthony Preira. Diagne was adopted as a child by the Crespin family who were of mixed race origin from Gorée and St. Louis, and Christians.
Léonor MériméeJean-François Léonor Mérimée (16 September 1757, Broglie - 26 September 1836, Paris) was a French writer, painter and chemist, specializing in pigment color in painting and decorative art. He was the father of the famous author, Prosper Mérimée. His father was François Merimée (c. 1715-1795), a lawyer at the Parlement de Rouen and author of "Treatise on fiefs and feudal rights in Normandy according to the natural order of matters and procedure divided into 5 parts (1760). He also served as a steward for the Maréchal de Broglie.
