CePd2Al2Ga Kondo-lattice under high pressure

2007
Journal paper
Abstract

We report electrical resistance measurements under hydrostatic (up to 0.9 GPa) and quasi-hydrostatic pressure (beyond 1 GPa) in the ferromagnetic (FM) CePd2Al2Ga Kondo-lattice compound. From the analysis of the electrical resistance data we obtained the magnetic ordering temperatures, the values of the gap of magnons, and a coefficient related to the spin-wave stiffness. From the pressure dependence of these quantities, we conclude that the ambient pressure FM ordering appears to break down around 0.4 GPa changing to another magnetically ordered phase-presumably anti ferromagnetic (AF) - before the expected transition into the paramagnetic state takes place at higher pressures.
