Abstract

A novel Ru-catalyzed hydrogenation of carbon dioxide proceeds with an unprecedented high formic acid to amine ratio (AAR of 2.69), which results in an improved energy content. The presented catalyst system allows for reversible fast hydrogen loading (even at RT) and unprecedented unloading (TON for H2 liberation of 800 000).
