Abstract

The prepn. of large arrays of iron oxide (α-Fe2O3) and iron oxyhydroxide (β-FeOOH) as monodisperse perpendicular single-cryst. nanorods grown directly onto a polycryst. (or single-cryst.) substrate from an aq. soln. of ferric salts, without any template, membrane nor surfactant is described.
