Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques
Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS) is an international federation that represents underwater activities in underwater sport and underwater sciences, and oversees an international system of recreational snorkel and scuba diver training and recognition. It is also known by its English name, the World Underwater Federation, and its Spanish name, Confederación Mundial De Actividades Subacuáticas. Its foundation in Monaco during January 1959 makes it one of the world's oldest underwater diving organisations.
Roland Guillon
Roland Guillon (born 1942) is a French sociologist, known both for his work on the problems of employment and capital, and particularly, for his innovative approach to jazz. He is a research engineer at the centre of economics and ethics of environment and development of the Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines University. Employment and training specialist, he undertook several missions in West Africa. He is at the origin of the definition "New Wave" in jazz.
Gabriela Basterra
Gabriela Basterra is a professor of Comparative Literature and Spanish at New York University. She is primarily known for her work on philosophy and literature, ethical subjectivity, rhetoric, poetry, tragedy, psychoanalysis, ethics and politics. Basterra received her Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures from Harvard University in 1997, and has taught at NYU ever since. She has also been a visiting professor at Princeton University. Between 2004-10 Professor Basterra held the position of Directeur de Programme at the Collège International de Philosophie in Paris.
Roland Mousnier
Roland Émile Mousnier (munje; Paris, September 7, 1907– February 8, 1993, Paris) was a French historian of the early modern period in France and of the comparative studies of different civilizations. Mousnier was born in Paris and received his education at the École pratique des hautes études. Between 1932 and 1947, he worked as a school teacher in Rouen and Paris. During the Second World War, Mousnier was a member of the French Resistance. In 1947, he was appointed as a professor at Strasbourg University, before moving to the Sorbonne in 1955, where he remained until 1977.
Anarchism in Belgium
Anarchism spread into Belgium as Communards took refuge in Brussels with the fall of the Paris Commune. Most Belgian members in the First International joined the anarchist Jura Federation after the socialist schism. Belgian anarchists also organized the 1886 Walloon uprising, the Libertarian Communist Group, and several Bruxellois newspapers at the turn of the century. Apart from new publications, the movement dissipated through the internecine antimilitarism in the interwar period.
