Ainsi soit je... (song)"Ainsi soit je..." (English: "So Be I...") is a 1988 song recorded by the French artist Mylène Farmer. The song was released as a single twice: as the second single from her second studio album Ainsi soit je... on 4 April 1988, and as the second single in a live version from her second live album Live à Bercy on 20 August 1997. Both versions achieved a relative success on the charts, failing twice to reach the top ten in France. Les Cités obscuresThe Obscure Cities (Les Cités Obscures), first published in English as, variously, Stories of the Fantastic and Cities of the Fantastic, is a bande dessinée series created by Belgian artist François Schuiten and French writer Benoît Peeters. First serialized in magazine format in 1982, the series has been published in album format by Brussels-based publisher Casterman since 1983. New installments of the series were published throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, in varying formats, including full-color, partial color, greyscale, and black-and-white comic illustration, as well as photo comic, picture book, and multimedia formats.
David Bierens de HaanDavid Bierens de Haan (3 May 1822, in Amsterdam – 12 August 1895, in Leiden) was a Dutch mathematician and historian of science. Bierens de Haan was a son of the rich merchant Abraham Pieterszoon de Haan (1795–1880) and Catharina Jacoba Bierens (1797–1835). In 1843 he completed a study in the exact sciences and received his PhD from the University of Leiden in 1847 under Gideon Janus Verdam (1802–1866) for the work De Lemniscata Bernouillana. After this he became a teacher of physics and mathematics at a gymnasium in Deventer.

François SimiandFrançois Joseph Charles Simiand (18 April 1873 – 13 April 1935) was a French sociologist and economist best known as a participant in the Année Sociologique. As a member of the French Historical School of economics, Simiand predicated a rigorous factual and statistical basis for theoretical models and policies. His contribution to French social science was recognized in 1931 when, at the age of 58, he was elected to the faculty of the Collège de France and accepted the chair in labor history. Simiand's career was unusual.
Hélène HatzfeldHélène Hatzfeld is a French political scientist. She has published books on topics including social science methodology, the evolution of social work, innovations in the city of Louviers from the 1960s through the 1980s, and the political history of leftist parties and social movements in the 1970s. Hatzfeld's research has been cited, or she has been interviewed, in media outlets including France Culture, France Inter, Paris-Normandie (Fr). Hatzfeld is from Lyon.
Éric FassinÉric Fassin (fasɛ̃; born 1959) is a French sociologist. Fassin taught in the United States from 1989 to 1994, at Brandeis University and NYU. From 1994 to 2012, he was an agrégé professor of sociology in the Department of Social Sciences at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. Fassin currently serves as a professor of sociology at the University of Paris 8 St-Denis. He is also a researcher at Institut de recherche interdisciplinaire sur les enjeux sociaux.
Joseph TondaJoseph Tonda (born 1952) is a sociologist and anthropologist of Congolese and Gabonese background. He is a specialist of Congolese and Gabonese culture, society, and politics, and is currently professor of sociology at Omar Bongo University in Libreville. He is also a regular visiting instructor at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris, France. Tonda received his doctorate at the University of Grenoble in France and his habilitation in 2003 at the EHESS.
