Ernest JaimeJean-François-Ernest Jaime (28 April 1804 – 7 June 1884) was a French watercolourist, lithographer, art historian and playwright. He was the father of dramatist Adolphe Jaime (1824–1901). He collaborated to Le Figaro and La Caricature. His plays were presented on the most significant Parisian stages of the 19th century: Variétés, Gaîté, Palais-Royal, etc. He also authored some songs.
HartmannswillerkopfHartmannswillerkopf, also known as the Vieil Armand (French) or Hartmannsweiler Kopf (German; English: Hartmansweiler Head) is a pyramidal rocky spur in the Vosges mountains of the Grand Est region, France. The peak stands at overlooking the Rhine valley. At Hartmannswillerkopf stands a national monument of World War I for the fighting which took place in the trenches here. The peak is located from Cernay and north-west of Mulhouse. The mountain is shared by the towns of Hartmannswiller, Wuenheim, Wattwiller and Uffholtz.

Packard-Le Père LUSAC-11The LUSAC-11 ("Lepère United States Army Combat") was an early American two-seat fighter aircraft. It was a French design, commissioned and built in the United States during World War I and ordered in large numbers by the United States Army Air Corps, but these were cancelled at the end of the war, and only 30 were built. The type was used for experimental purposes, setting several altitude records during the 1920s. When the U.S. entered World War I, the Signal Corps had just 55 aircraft, none fit for combat.

Born in Paris on 6 May 1911, des Cars was from an aristocratic family. He was the second son of François de la Péruse, Duke of Cars (1875–1941) and Marie Thérésa Edwards (1879–1941). Cars' father was a young military attache in London when at a Victorian debutante ball he met his future wife, the daughter of the President of Chile. Cars would later be inspired by his mother in his work.
