Nome (mathematics)In mathematics, specifically the theory of elliptic functions, the nome is a special function that belongs to the non-elementary functions. This function is of great importance in the description of the elliptic functions, especially in the description of the modular identity of the Jacobi theta function, the Hermite elliptic transcendents and the Weber modular functions, that are used for solving equations of higher degrees. Reflection mappingIn computer graphics, environment mapping, or reflection mapping, is an efficient technique for approximating the appearance of a reflective surface by means of a precomputed texture. The texture is used to store the of the distant environment surrounding the rendered object. Several ways of storing the surrounding environment have been employed. The first technique was sphere mapping, in which a single texture contains the image of the surroundings as reflected on a spherical mirror.
Philosophical presentismPhilosophical presentism is the view that only present entities exist (or, equivalently, that everything is present).
