BBP - Hill Group
GroupThe Laboratory for the Neural Basis of Brain States (LNBBS) is a part of the EPFL Blue Brain Project, focusing on understanding cortical and thalamocortical structure and function in relation to brain states like wakefulness, sleep, and anesthesia. Directed by Prof. Sean Hill, the group utilizes biophysically-detailed computational models and large-scale simulations to investigate cellular and synaptic mechanisms underlying brain states in health and disease. Prof. Hill, also based in Toronto, leads the Neuroinformatics team at EPFL Blue Brain Project, providing informatics infrastructure for neuroscience data analysis. The lab's expertise lies in large-scale simulation, neuroinformatics, microcircuitry, brain atlases, and more.
