The Chair of Ergodic Theory at EPFL, led by Tenure Track Assistant Professor Florian Karl Richter, focuses on research in ergodic theory, combinatorial number theory, and arithmetic combinatorics. The unit hosts the Young Researchers in Mathematics Program, offering students the opportunity to gain research experience. Prof. Richter and his team have published extensively in top mathematical journals, covering topics such as prime number theory, fractal sets, and multiple ergodic averages. The unit also offers courses in analysis, combinatorial number theory, and ergodic theory. Open positions for postdoctoral and PhD researchers are available, with Prof. Richter welcoming applications from those interested in pursuing research in ergodic theory and related fields.
