GroupThe Quack Group at EPFL focuses on Micro- and Nanosystems Engineering for Integrated Transducers, exploring innovative micro- and nanofabrication techniques on high-performance materials. They develop scalable system-level integration approaches, with specific thrusts in Diamond Photonics, Silicon Photonic MEMS, Optical MEMS, Photonic Switches, and Tunable Optical Microsystems. Their research spans Information and Communication Technologies, Space and Imaging, as well as Quantum Information Technologies and Artificial Intelligence. Projects include Diamond Nano-Opto-Electromechanical Systems, MicroDiamond for micromechanical components made of diamond, and Bistable Silicon Photonic MEMS Switches for optical switching in data centers.
