Depuis des siècles, les relations entre la ville et l’eau ont été marquées par divers degrés d’imbrication, passant par des cycles d’appropriation et d’abandon des rives urbaines. Les changements climatiques actuels, dont certains effets sont accentués dans les milieux urbains, amènent à repenser la place de l’eau dans la ville, notamment au niveau de ses espaces publics. Des dynamiques urbaines de requalification – souvent à l’échelle d’un quartier – s’amorcent entre les territoires urbanisés et les cours d’eau qui les traversent, entraînant des mutations inédites du rapport ville-eau. Un nouvel équilibre est, dès lors, à trouver pour réinventer certaines interactions. Résultat de diverses investigations complémentaires, la recherche propose une grille de lecture dont l’objectif consiste à explorer – sous l’angle spécifique de la relation ville-fleuve – des visions projectuelles imaginées pour de nouveaux quartiers rhodaniens. Élaborée dans un cadre théorique à visée opérationnelle, l’application de cette grille de lecture au site de la Jonction à Genève est éclairante à plus d’un titre.
