The Laboratory of History of Science and Technology (LHST) at EPFL, founded in 2019, focuses on understanding the historical, cultural, and social transformations of science and technology. They are interested in the role of images and visual thinking, the history of digital and computer science, and the relations between science and technology. LHST collaborates with various disciplines to explore how science and technology shape our world. Their research themes include re-mediating the history of science and technology, digital history, and the intersection of science, technology, and society. LHST also curates the Collection of scientific instruments of the University of Lausanne, reflecting over two centuries of scientific research and teaching in the region.
