Laboratory for Quantum Magnetism

The Laboratory of Quantum Magnetism (LQM) at EPFL focuses on magnetic phenomena in correlated electron materials, from local spin clusters to novel superconductors. They utilize neutron scattering techniques at large scale facilities, in-house measurements under extreme conditions, and theoretical simulations. Research also includes insulating model systems and materials with strong electron correlations, such as magnetoresistive manganites and unconventional superconductors. LQM engages in cross-disciplinary research, including correlated electron-based nano-devices and providing technological services to the industry.
