The Laboratory of MicroBioRobot Systems at EPFL focuses on two core objectives. Firstly, they are dedicated to developing next-generation microrobots that integrate sensing and computation into their machinery, enabling more advanced functionalities. Secondly, the lab is involved in exploring mesoscale physical principles of biological self-organization, aiming to engineer microrobotic systems for high-throughput bioengineering platforms. Their research involves areas such as robotic microsurgery for embryology, microrobots powered by ultrasound, endovascular microrobots, adaptive microswimmers, soft robotic microactuators, and tissue engineering with robotics.
