The Laboratory of Quantum Materials (QMAT) at EPFL focuses on developing new materials with unusual electronic behavior, quantum materials on sub-micrometer scales, and topological semi-metals, unconventional high-T c superconductors, and exotic strongly correlated electron systems. They aim to advance micro- and nanofabrication technologies to combine circuits from exotic materials with silicon chips, enabling the testing of new technology prototypes using lower quality materials available today.
