The Group SCI STI JVH at EPFL focuses on research and development in the field of fuel cells and electrolysis, with a particular emphasis on solid oxide technology operating at high temperatures. Their work involves converting hydrocarbons like natural gas and biofuels into electricity and heat, as well as transforming excess electricity and waste heat into fuel. The group is actively involved in various projects such as Project Switch, which recently won the Energy Globe Award for Italy, and the AMON project aiming to develop a new breakthrough technology in Europe. They collaborate with industry partners and participate in European R&D projects to advance fuel cell technologies.
