The Tribology and Interfacial Chemistry (TIC) Group at EPFL focuses on surface science and technology of materials, with a particular emphasis on tribology and chemical interactions at liquid-material interfaces. Research projects include tribocorrosion, surface chemical effects in tribology, corrosion in biological systems, and processes for improved surface properties. The group collaborates with industry and research institutions, providing scientific services in tribology and corrosion. Teaching activities cover topics such as corrosion, tribology, and materials characterization. Facilities include various tribometers, electrochemical equipment, and surface modification tools.
