Anja SkrivervikAnja Skrivervik obtained her electrical engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 1986, and her PhD from the same institution in 1992, for which she received the Latsis award. After a stay at the University of Rennes as an invited Research Fellow and two years in the industry, she returned part time to EPFL as an Assistant Professor in 1996, and is now a Professeur Titulaire at this institution, where she is the head of the Microwave and Antenna Group. Her research activities include electrically small antennas, antennas in biological media, periodic structures, reflect- and tranmitarrays, and numerical techniques for electromagnetics. She is author or co-author of more than 200 peer reviewed scientific publications. Her teaching activities include courses on microwaves and antennas, and she has course at Bachelor, Master and PhD levels. She was director of the EE section form 1996-2000, and is currently the director of the EE doctoral school at EPFL.
She is very active in European collaboration and European projects. She was the chairperson of the Swiss URSI until 2012, is a Board member of the European School on Antennas and is frequently requested to review research programs and centers in Europe. She is a member of the board of directors of the European Association on Antennas and Propagation (EurAAP) since 2017.
Pierre-André FarinePierre-André Farine received the Doctoral and Engineering Degrees in Microtechnology from University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, respectively in 1984 and 1978, and the Engineering in Microtechnology from ETS Le Locle in 1974.
He was working 17 years for the Swiss watch industries (Swatch Group), including developments for high-tech products, such as pager watches, watches including integrated sensors such as pressure, compass, altimeter and temperature sensors for Tissot. He was also involved in prototypes developments for watches including GPS and cellular GSM phones.
Since 8 years, he is Professor in Electronics and Signal Processing at the Institute of Microtechnology IMT, University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Full professor at EPFL since January 1st, 2009, he works in the field of low-power integrated products for portable devices, including microelectronics for wireless telecommunications, UWB and GNSS systems. He is Head of the Electronics and Signal Processing Laboratory ESPLAB of the EPFL IMT-NE. His laboratory works also for video and audio compression algorithms and their implementation in low power integrated circuits.

A trans-disciplinary multi-dimensional Simulation" as Partner Leader (Main Leader: Prof. Jacques Lévy), and as Main Leader of the Sub-Project C: "Urbanity. Configuring a Post-Car world" (2013-2017). Others projects to be mentioned: "Urban gardening and human wellbeing in the greater Lausanne area" (Partner leader; ENAC Exploratory Grant 2016-17) ; "Territory in the Crisis" (Partner leader; Compagnia di San Paolo 2013-15) ; "1 km Well-being. TEACHNING ACTIVITIES I am currently teaching in the following fields: History and Theory of urbanism, Theory of contemporary landscape and urban design, Cultural representation of nature, Interdisciplinary issues in Urban and Land Planning. My present classes at EPFL are: Theories of Urbanism I and II (bachelor); UE J Territory and Landscape (master seminar). After being responsible of interdisciplinary education in ENAC-EPFL (Cours ENAC, 2006-08; ENAC Week, 2004-17), I have been increasingly involved in Post graduate education. Namely, I am member of the Board of the CAS Thèmes et Echelles de l’Urbanisme, in the frame of MAS Continuing Education in Urbanism EPFL-UNIGE (Since 2018), after being co-responsible of PhD class Concepts and Theory 1 (EDAR-EPFL 2014-2017). Recently I chaired the Scientific committee of the Doctoral Seminar Comparing habitat in the frame of swissuniversities (2017) and co-coordinated the International Masterclass Territories in the crisis (EPFL-Polytchnique of Turin-University of Venise, 2016).
