Looming north of the municipality is the Lützelsoon plateau, while to the west lies the Hahnenbach valley. East of the village is found the Kellenbach valley. A few kilometres to the south, the Hunsrück falls off into the Nahe valley.

RhaunenRhaunen is an Ortsgemeinde – a municipality belonging to a Verbandsgemeinde, a kind of collective municipality – in the Birkenfeld district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It was the seat of the former Verbandsgemeinde Rhaunen. The municipality lies at the Idar Forest in the Hunsrück in a sprawling, well watered hollow. The hollow separates the Idar Forest massif from the Soonwald massif. Within the village itself, the Lingenbach empties into the Rhaunelbach, which itself, along with the Näßbach, the Macherbach and the Büdenbach, empties into the Idarbach.
KirnKirn est une ville allemande de située dans la vallée de la Nahe et dans le Land de Rhénanie-Palatinat. La ville fait partie de l'arrondissement de Bad Kreuznach et est sans en dépendre le siège de la commune fusionnée du Pays de Kirn. Connue pour la production de cuir et de bière, Kirn était la capitale des Wild- et Rhingraves, les princes de Salm-Kyrbourg, jusqu'à son annexion par la France dans les années 1790. Pour ces raisons, la ville de Kirn est aujourd'hui le principal centre historique et économique de toute une région du Hunsrück sur la Nahe.
HunsrückLe Hunsrück est un massif montagneux de la Rhénanie-Palatinat et de la Sarre (Allemagne) formant le rebord méridional du massif schisteux rhénan. Il est situé entre la Moselle au nord-ouest, le Rhin au nord-est, la Nahe au sud-est et la Sarre au sud.
