The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Namsskogan. Other villages in the municipality include Brekkvasselv, Smalåsen, Skorovatn, and Trones. The village of Namsskogan lies along the river Namsen in the northern part of the municipality. The European route E6 highway runs through the village. Grong
Grong est une commune norvégienne située dans le comté de Trøndelag. Elle fait partie de la région du Namdalen. La commune est située au nord-est du comté et son territoire de est traversé par le fleuve Namsen, dans le Namdalen. Elle comprend les localités de Medjå, son centre administratif, Bergsmoen, Formofoss, Gartland et Harran. Overhalla
Overhalla is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Namdalen region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Ranemsletta (also called Overhalla). Other villages include Melen, Skage, Skogmo, Svalia, and Øysletta. The population is concentrated in the relatively broad Namsen river valley at the center. Public services, agriculture, and tourism are the main sources of income. Overhallahus (a house building company) and Pharmaq (a fish vaccine factory) are located in the municipality.
Vikna

It was part of the Namdalen region. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Dun on the island of Jøa. Other villages include Salsnes and Nufsfjord. At the time of its dissolution in 2020, the municipality was the 199th largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway.
