Vindafjord

Vindafjord is a municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional district of Haugaland. Since 2005, the administrative centre of the municipality has been the village of Ølensjøen (prior to that time it was the village of Sandeid). Other villages in the municipality include Bjoa, Imslandsjøen, Ølensvåg, Skjold, Vats, Vikebygd, and Vikedal. The municipality is centered on the Vindafjorden and Sandeidfjorden in the east and it lies north and east of the Skjoldafjorden in the west.

Torvastad

Torvastad is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until 1965. The administrative centre was the village of Haugesund (from 1838 until 1855), and after that it was the village of Torvastad on the island of Karmøy. Today, the area of Torvastad refers to the northern part of the municipality (and island) of Karmøy. Torvastad municipality originally encompassed parts of the present-day municipalities of Haugesund, Utsira, and Karmøy.

Skudenes

Skudeneshavn

(also known as Skudeneshamn or simply Skudenes) is a town in Karmøy municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located on the southernmost tip of the island of Karmøy at the entrance to the Boknafjorden and Karmsundet strait. The town is part of the traditional district of Haugaland. The town was an independent municipality due to its status as a ladested from 1858 until 1965. The town has a population (2019) of 3,334 and a population density of . This makes Skudeneshavn one of the smallest towns in Norway (Kolvereid, with 1,470 inhabitants is the smallest).

Vikedal (municipality)

Vikedal is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1965. It was located along the Vindafjorden and Sandeidfjorden in the northern part of the Ryfylke district. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Vikedal, where Vikedal Church is located. The parish of Vikedal was created as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt law). On 1 January 1923, the municipality was divided in three.

Skjold (municipality)

Skjold is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The municipality encompassed all the area surrounding the Grindafjorden and Skjoldafjorden. The area is located in the present-day municipalities of Vindafjord and Tysvær. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Skjold where the Skjold Church is located. The parish of Skjold was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt law).

Vats (municipality)

Vats is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. Located in the traditional district of Haugaland, the municipality existed from 1891 until 1965. The municipality encompassed the land to the east and west surrounding the Vatsfjorden and the lake Vatsvatnet. Vats is typically divided into two parts Øvre Vats (around the lake in the north) and Nedre Vats (around the fjord in the south). The municipality of Vats was established on 1 January 1891 when it was split off from the municipality of Skjold.

Stangaland

Stangaland is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It was part of the traditional district of Haugaland. The municipality of Stangaland existed from 1909 until 1965 when it was merged into the newly created Karmøy Municipality. The municipality encompassed the rural areas surrounding the coastal city of Kopervik on the island of Karmøy. The administrative centre was the village of Stangaland just outside the town of Kopervik. The municipality called Kopervik herred was established on 1 January 1909 when it was split off from the municipality of Avaldsnes.

Imsland

Imsland is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1923 until its dissolution in 1965. The municipality included the area surrounding the inner part of the Vindafjorden in the present-day municipalities of Suldal and Vindafjord. The administrative centre of Imsland was the village of Imslandsjøen where Imsland Church is located. The municipality was created on 1 January 1923 when the large municipality of Vikedal was split into three. The southeastern part of Vikedal became the municipality of Imsland.

Eigersund

Eigersund est une kommune de Norvège. Elle est située dans le comté de Rogaland, au sud-ouest de la Norvège. Elle est frontalière à la commune de Hå à l'ouest, de Bjerkreim, Lund, Sirdal (Vest-Agder) au nord, de Sokndal à l'est. Eigersund appartient au district de Dalane. Le nom Eigersund vient du vieil islandais Eikundarsund, "le détroit entre les chênes". Le centre administratif de la commune est Egersund, la ville compte 10874 habitants (2012). Egersund est aussi appelé «okka by».
