Époque georgienne

L’époque georgienne est une période de l'histoire britannique normalement définie par les règnes des rois George , George II, George III et George IV, c'est-à-dire un laps de temps allant de 1714 à 1830, entrecoupé par la période intermédiaire de la régence du futur George IV, alors prince de Galles, pendant la maladie de son père George III, de début 1811 à 1820. Il arrive que le règne de Guillaume IV, de 1830 à 1837, soit également inclus dans cette période.

HMS Black Swan (L57) est parrainé par la communauté civile de Widnes pendant la campagne nationale du Warship Week (semaine des navires de guerre) en . Il est un sloop britannique, de la classe Black Swan, construit pour la Royal Navy. Le National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty (connu communément comme National Trust ou NT) est une association à but non lucratif britannique fondée dans le but de conserver et de mettre en valeur des monuments et des sites d’intérêt collectif. Le NT intervient en Angleterre, au pays de Galles, sur l'île de Man et en Irlande du Nord. Créé en 1895, le National Trust est devenu en un siècle la plus importante organisation de ce type en Europe et le deuxième propriétaire foncier privé du Royaume-Uni, après la Couronne.
Mersey Ferry
The Mersey Ferry is a ferry service operating on the River Mersey in north west England, between Liverpool to the east and Birkenhead and Wallasey on the Wirral Peninsula to the west. Ferries have been used on this route since at least the 12th century, and continue to be popular for both local people and visitors. The current fleet consists of two vessels. A third ferry, Royal Daffodil was in service until 2012. The current ferries originally came into service in the 1960s and were named Mountwood and Woodchurch.
Skelmersdale
Skelmersdale ˈskɛlmərzdeɪl is a town in the West Lancashire district, in Lancashire, England, on the River Tawd, west of Wigan, northeast of Liverpool and southwest of Preston. In 2006, it had a population of 38,813. The town is known locally as Skem ˈskɛm. While the first record of the town is in the Domesday Book of 1086, much of the town, including the current town centre, was developed as a second wave new town in the 1960s. The town's initial development as a coal town coincided with the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century; the town lies on the Lancashire Coalfield.

Wirral line
The Wirral line is one of two commuter rail routes operated by Merseyrail and centred on Merseyside, England, the other being the Northern line. The Wirral line connects Liverpool to the Wirral Peninsula via the Mersey Railway Tunnel, with branches to New Brighton, West Kirby, Chester and Ellesmere Port. Beneath Liverpool, the line follows a clockwise circular route in a single-track tunnel called the Loop, built in the early 1970s.
Huyton
Huyton (ˈhaɪtən ) is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, Merseyside, England. Part of the Liverpool Urban Area, it borders the Liverpool suburbs of Dovecot, Knotty Ash and Belle Vale, and the neighbouring village of Roby, with which it formed Huyton with Roby Urban District between 1894 and 1974. Historically in Lancashire, Huyton was an ancient parish which in the mid-19th century contained Croxteth Park, Knowsley and Tarbock, in addition to the township of Huyton-with-Roby.
Holyhead
Holyhead (Caergybi) est une communauté et un port britannique, situé sur Holy Island, au nord du pays de Galles et à l'ouest de l'île d'Anglesey. Cette ville est située à l'extrémité de la route A5, ancienne voie romaine modernisée par l'ingénieur Thomas Telford, menant à Londres par le pont de Menai. Le nom gallois de la ville signifie « le fort de saint Cybi » et les murs de la citadelle romaine originelle encore survivent dans la ville, avec l'église de Cybi, un saint gallois. Le nom du fort en latin est inconnu.
Dee Estuary
The Dee Estuary (Aber Dyfrdwy) is a large estuary by means of which the River Dee flows into Liverpool Bay. The estuary starts near Shotton after a five-mile (8 km) 'canalised' section and the river soon swells to be several miles wide forming the boundary between the Wirral Peninsula in north-west England and Flintshire in north-east Wales. The Dee Estuary's largest towns along it include Holywell, Flint, Connah's Quay, Shotton, Queensferry, Saltney Ferry, Heswall, West Kirby and Neston as well as other villages and towns alongside it.
