District de CacharLe District de Cachar (en assamais : কাছাড় Kasaŗ, en bengali : কাছাড় Kachhaŗ, Sylheti: কাছাড় জেলা) est un district de l'état d’Assam en Inde. Il couvre une surface de , et sa population est de habitants en 2011. Son chef-lieu est Silchar, l'ancienne Khaspour. C'est aujourd'hui une des plus importantes villes d’Assam et l'une des six à disposer d’un aéroport. La langue officielle au Cachar est le bengali. Curieusement, bien que les États indiens soient constitués sur une base linguistique, le Cachar reste partie de l'Assam et n'a pas été rattaché au Tripura voisin, qui partage avec lui le bengali.
MadhavdevMadhavdev (1489–1596) (Pron: ˈʃrɪ ˈʃrɪ ˈmɑ:dəbˌdeɪv) is an important preceptor of the Ekasarana Dharma known for his loyalty to his guru, Srimanta Sankardev as well as his artistic brilliance. Initially a sakta worshipper, he was converted to Ekasarana Dharma by Sankardev and became his most prominent disciple. He became the religious as well as artistic successor of Sankardeva after the latter's death in 1568. He is known particularly for his book of hymns, the Naam Ghosa, as well as a large selection of songs called Borgeets.

This district, along with Nalbari, Barpeta, Kamrup Metropolitan, Bajali and Baksa districts has been created from the Undivided Kamrup district. Kamrup Rural district was created by bifurcating Undivided Kamrup district in 2003.

GolaghatGolaghat ('ɡoʊlɑːɡhɑːt Gʊlaɡɦat 'ɡʊlaɡɦat) one of the largest subdivisions of the Indian state of Assam, later elevated to the position of a full–fledged district headquarter on 5 October 1987, is a city and a municipality and the seat of administrative operations of Golaghat district, besides being a twin city to Jorhat which is about 55 km away. It is one of the oldest urban areas in Assam that recently featured on the Smart Cities nominations list, along with Guwahati and four other prominent urban areas of the state; although losing out to Guwahati at the final stage.

District de DhubriDhubri District (Pron:ˈdʊbri) is an administrative district in the Indian state of Assam. The district headquarters are located at Dhubri town which is situated at ~290 km from Guwahati. This was also the headquarters of erstwhile undivided Goalpara district which was created in 1876 by the British government. In 1983, Goalpara district was divided into four districts and Dhubri is one among those. Dhubri district is one among the many Muslim-majority districts of Assam.

Rajbanshi peopleThe Rajbanshi, also Rajbongshi and Koch-Rajbongshi, are peoples from Lower Assam, North Bengal, eastern Bihar, Terai region of eastern Nepal, Rangpur division of North Bangladesh and Bhutan who have in the past sought an association with the Koch dynasty. Today, they speak various Indo-Aryan languages, though in the past they might have spoken Tibeto-Burman languages. The community is categorized as OBC in Assam, SC in West Bengal, and ST in Meghalaya. They are the largest Scheduled Caste community of West Bengal.
