Burnham-on-Sea

Petit village jusqu'à la fin du , la ville est aujourd'hui une station balnéaire fréquentée. Sa population était de habitants en 2001. Un phare encore actif qui éclaire l'embouchure de la rivière Parrett. Westonzoyland
Westonzoyland is a village and civil parish in Somerset, England. It is situated on the Somerset Levels, south east of Bridgwater. The name of the parish derives from its location on the "island" of Sowy, an area of slightly higher ground on the Somerset Levels between the River Cary and the River Parrett. The parish of Westernzoyland was created in 1515 when the parish of Sowy was divided. Westonzoyland refers to the westernmost settlement on Sowy. The parish of Westonzoyland was part of the Whitley Hundred.
Godney
Godney is a village and civil parish near Glastonbury on the River Sheppey on the Somerset Levels in the Mendip district of Somerset, England. Near the village are the sites of the Iron Age Glastonbury Lake Village, and the now drained Meare Pool. During the Second World War, Godney was incorporated into the GHQ Line. Several pillboxes were constructed in the area. Natural obstacles to tanks were supplemented with an anti-tank ditch and bridges in the area were prepared for demolition at short notice.
Dunball
Dunball is a small hamlet west of the village of Puriton and close to the town of Bridgwater, Somerset, England. Just north of Dunball is Down End which is the site of Down End Castle a motte-and-bailey castle, which has been designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Located on the A38, adjacent to Junction 23 of the M5 motorway, it hosts a wharf on the River Parrett, created in 1844 by Bridgwater coal merchants, which is the only part of the Port of Bridgwater still in commercial use today.

Un polder (ou prise ou poldre) est une étendue artificielle de terre gagnée sur l'eau, le plus souvent dont le niveau est inférieur à celui de la mer, à partir de marais, estuaires, lacs ou des zones littorales. La surface à aménager est d'abord entourée de digues. L'eau emprisonnée dans ce périmètre est alors captée par un ensemble de pompes actionnées autrefois par des moulins à vent et, aujourd'hui, par des pompes électriques.
Blue Lias
The Blue Lias is a geological formation in southern, eastern and western England and parts of South Wales, part of the Lias Group. The Blue Lias consists of a sequence of limestone and shale layers, laid down in latest Triassic and early Jurassic times, between 195 and 200 million years ago. The Blue Lias is famous for its fossils, especially ammonites. Its age corresponds to the Rhaetian to lower Sinemurian stages of the geological timescale, thus fully including the Hettangian stage.
