DarodDarod (Daarood, ) est un clan somalien. L'ancêtre de ce clan était Abdirahman bin Isma'il al-Jabarti, plus communément appelé Darod. Le clan Darod est le plus grand clan somalien de la Corne de l'Afrique, avec un vaste territoire traditionnel. Les Darod en Somalie vivent principalement dans les États membres fédéraux du Jubbaland et du Puntland ainsi que dans les régions septentrionales de Sool, Sanaag et Cayn. En outre, le clan a une présence accessoire dans les états de Koonfur-Galbeed et Galmudug.
DhulbahanteThe Dhulbahante (Dhulbahante, البهانتة) is a Somali clan family, part of the Harti clan which itself belongs to the largest Somali clan-family — the Darod. They are the traditional inhabitants of the physiographic Nugaal in its topographic sense, and its pre-independence administrative sense, which included Doollo. The clan's progenitor is buried at Badweyn. The Ali Gheri clan were the first tribe to adopt the Dervish (Daraawiish) identity.

MarehanThe Marehan (Mareexaan, مريحان) is a Somali clan, which is part of one of the largest Somali clans families, the Darod. The clan is one of the largest constituent sub-clans of the Darod. The majority of the Marehan live in the Jubaland in southern Somalia, as well as the Galguduud and Mudug regions in central Somalia, the Somali region of Ethiopia and the North Eastern Province of Kenya. The Marehan of Darood Jabarti are a noble Clan that has a history of rulership starting from before the Times of Adal, to the Imamate of Aussa and Emirate or harar, up until the modern Somali State.
HartiHarti (Harti, هرتي), meaning "strong man", is a Somali clan family that is the part of the Darod clan. The major sub-clans include the Majeerteen, Dhulbahante, Warsangali, Tinle, Maganlabe, Kaptallah and Dishiishe, while other minor sub-clans consist of Kaskiqabe, Geesaguule and Liibaangashe. The clan settles the apex of the Horn of Africa and its peripheries, and in the south, the clan settles on both sides of the Kenya-Somalia border. The extended formal name of the Harti clan is Saleh Abdi Mohamed Abdirahman bin Isma'il al-Jabarti.

Elle a donné son nom à un territoire du nord-est de la Somalie durant des siècles, à la pointe de la Corne de l'Afrique. Ce territoire était sous l'autorité d'un sultanat indépendant lors de sa colonisation par l'Italie à la fin du . Maintenant appelé Puntland, cetté région fédérée est l'une des plus stables de Somalie.
Ogaden (clan)The Ogaden (Ogaadeen, أوغادين) is one of the major Somali clans. Members of the Ogaden clan primarily live in the central Ogaden plateau of Ethiopia (Somali Region), the North Eastern Province of Kenya, and the Jubaland region of Southern Somalia. According to Human Rights Watch in 2008, the Ogaden is the largest Darod clan in Ethiopia's Somali Region, and may account for 40 to 50 percent of the Somali population in Ethiopia. The Ogaden clan "constitutes the backbone of the ONLF". In particular, the ONLF operates in Ogaden areas.
DeshiisheDeshiishe (Dashiishe) is a Somali clan. It's part of the Darod Harti sub-clan. Primarily inhabit in Puntland, especially Bari, Karkaar and Sanaag regions. Clan members are also found in Kismanyo in southern Somalia. The clan is a founding and pioneering tribe of Bosaso and naturally based the area of the city, its environs and constituencies. Clan's head elder serves as nominal Ugas of Harti clans.
LeelkaseThe Leelkase or Lailkase or Lelkase (Laylkase, ليلكسة) (Hussein bin Abdirahman bin Is'mail bin Ibrahim al Jaberti) is a major subclan of the Tanade Darod clan. The term "Leelkase" is a nickname, which translates as "farsighted, mindful, smart or intelligent.

Son indépendance autoproclamée en 1991 par rapport à la Somalie et sa Constitution du ne sont pas reconnues par la communauté internationale. Il est revendiqué comme un État de la république fédérale de Somalie.
