Ardhamagadhi PrakritArdhamagadhi Prakrit was a Middle Indo-Aryan language and a Dramatic Prakrit thought to have been spoken in modern-day Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and used in some early Buddhist and Jain drama. It was likely a Central Indo-Aryan language, related to Pali and the later Shauraseni Prakrit. It was originally thought to be a predecessor of the vernacular Magadhi Prakrit, hence the name (literally "half-Magadhi"). Theravada Buddhist tradition has long held that Pali was synonymous with Magadhi and there are many analogies between it and , literally 'half-Magadhi'.
Pradyota dynastyPradyota dynasty, also called Prthivim Bhoksyanti (lit. enjoying the earth), was a ruling dynasty of Avanti, founded by Pradyota, after his father Punika, a minister in the court of the king of Ujjaini, the northern part of the former Avanti kingdom, and placed his own son on the throne in 546 BCE. 'Pradyota or Chanda Pradyota' was the founder of the dynasty and the ruler of Avanti. Pradyota was the son of Pulika (or Punika), who is said to have killed previous King Ripunjaya of Brihadratha dynasty at Ujjain, to make his son the king.
SantharaLe Santhara — appelé aussi Sallekhana — est une pratique du jaïnisme qui consiste à mourir par suite du jeûne. Cette pratique est actuellement controversée en Inde car assimilée au suicide.
