Alcohol and cancer
Alcohol causes cancers of the oesophagus, liver, breast, colon, oral cavity, rectum, pharynx, and larynx, and probably causes cancers of the pancreas. Consumption of alcohol in any quantity can cause cancer. The more alcohol is consumed, the higher the cancer risk, and no amount can be considered safe. Breast cancer classification
Breast cancer classification divides breast cancer into categories according to different schemes criteria and serving a different purpose. The major categories are the histopathological type, the grade of the tumor, the stage of the tumor, and the expression of proteins and genes. As knowledge of cancer cell biology develops these classifications are updated. The purpose of classification is to select the best treatment. The effectiveness of a specific treatment is demonstrated for a specific breast cancer (usually by randomized, controlled trials).
Marqueur tumoral
Un est une molécule qui peut être identifiée afin d’aider à trouver une tumeur. L'augmentation d'un marqueur tumoral dans le sang n'est pas toujours synonyme de présence ou évolution d'un cancer car ces s pourraient être élevés dans certaines maladies non cancéreuses, donc, en général, les marqueurs tumoraux ne sont ni spécifiques ni sensibles pour le diagnostic d'un cancer. Malgré leur rôle limité dans le diagnostic de cancer, ils peuvent être utiles pour détecter la récidive d'une maladie cancéreuse après le traitement initial, ou pour surveiller l'efficacité thérapeutique.
