Estrogen (medication)
An estrogen (E) is a type of medication which is used most commonly in hormonal birth control and menopausal hormone therapy, and as part of feminizing hormone therapy for transgender women. They can also be used in the treatment of hormone-sensitive cancers like breast cancer and prostate cancer and for various other indications. Estrogens are used alone or in combination with progestogens. They are available in a wide variety of formulations and for use by many different routes of administration.
Stéroïde anabolisant
Les stéroïdes anabolisants, également connus sous le nom de stéroïdes androgéniques anabolisants ou SAA, sont une classe d'hormones stéroïdiennes liée à une hormone naturelle humaine : la testostérone. Ils augmentent la synthèse des protéines dans les cellules, entraînant une augmentation de tissus cellulaires (anabolisme), en particulier dans les muscles. Les stéroïdes anabolisants ont également des propriétés telles que le développement et l'entretien des caractéristiques masculines comme par exemple la croissance des cordes vocales et la pilosité.
Prasterone enanthate
Prasterone enanthate, also known as dehydroepiandrosterone enanthate (DHEA-E) and sold in combination with estradiol valerate under the brand name Gynodian Depot among others, is a weak androgen, estrogen, and neurosteroid medication which is used as a component of menopausal hormone therapy to treat menopausal symptoms in women. It is available only as an injectable preparation in combination with estradiol valerate. The medication is given by injection into muscle typically once every 4 weeks.
Testostérone (médicament)
La testostérone est un médicament et une hormone stéroïde naturelle. Elle est utilisée pour traiter l' hypogonadisme masculin, la dysphorie de genre et certains types de cancer du sein. Elle peut également être utilisé pour augmenter la capacité athlétique sous forme de dopage .On ne sait pas exactement si l'utilisation de la testostérone pour remédier aux faibles niveaux dus au vieillissement est bénéfique ou nocive. La testostérone peut être utilisée sous forme de gel ou de patch à appliquer sur la peau, à injecter dans un muscle, à placer dans la joue ou à prendre par la bouche.

Estradiol (E2) is a medication and naturally occurring steroid hormone. It is an estrogen and is used mainly in menopausal hormone therapy and to treat low sex hormone levels in women. It is also used in hormonal birth control for women, in hormone therapy for transgender women, and in the treatment of hormone-sensitive cancers like prostate cancer in men and breast cancer in women, among other uses.
Drospirenone
Drospirenone is a progestin and antiandrogen medication which is used in birth control pills to prevent pregnancy and in menopausal hormone therapy, among other uses. It is available both alone under the brand name Slynd and in combination with an estrogen under the brand name Yasmin among others. The medication is an analog of the drug spironolactone. Drospirenone is taken by mouth. Common side effects include acne, headache, breast tenderness, weight increase, and menstrual changes.
Déhydroépiandrostérone
La déhydroépiandrostérone (DHA ou DHEA) ou prastérone, est un androgène qui est réputé pour ses effets antivieillissement (d'où son surnom médiatique d'« hormone de jouvence »). Son efficacité est encore contestée, de nombreuses études n'ayant pas atteint de conclusion nette. Commercialisé sous forme de complément alimentaire, cette hormone est actuellement considérée comme un produit dopant par l'Agence mondiale antidopage.
Hormone replacement therapy
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT), also known as menopausal hormone therapy or postmenopausal hormone therapy, is a form of hormone therapy used to treat symptoms associated with female menopause. These symptoms can include hot flashes, vaginal atrophy, accelerated skin aging, vaginal dryness, decreased muscle mass, sexual dysfunction, and bone loss or osteoporosis. They are in large part related to the diminished levels of sex hormones that occur during menopause. Estrogens and progestogens are the main hormone drugs used in HRT.
Estradiol valerate
Estradiol valerate (EV), sold for use by mouth under the brand name Progynova and Primiwal E4 and for use by injection under the brand names Delestrogen and Progynon Depot among others, is an estrogen medication. It is used in hormone therapy for menopausal symptoms and low estrogen levels, hormone therapy for transgender people, and in hormonal birth control. It is also used in the treatment of prostate cancer. The medication is taken by mouth or by injection into muscle or fat once every 1 to 4 weeks.
