Doctor of Philosophy
A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD, Ph.D., or DPhil; Latin: philosophiae doctor or doctor philosophiae) is the most common degree at the highest academic level, awarded following a course of study and research. PhDs are awarded for programs across the whole breadth of academic fields. Because it is an earned research degree, those studying for a PhD are required to produce original research that expands the boundaries of knowledge, normally in the form of a dissertation, and defend their work before a panel of other experts in the field.

Le terme rassemble les méthodes et pratiques d'enseignement requises pour transmettre un savoir (connaissances), un savoir-faire (compétences) et un savoir-être (attitudes). Plus généralement, l'expression « faire preuve de pédagogie » signifie l'aptitude à enseigner et à transmettre à un individu ou un groupe d'individus un savoir ou une expérience par l'usage des méthodes les plus adaptées à l'audience concernée.
Doctorat en administration des affaires
Le DBA (pour Doctorate in Business Administration) est un diplôme délivré après une formation à temps plein ou temps partiel, suivie par des apprenants dans le domaine des sciences de gestion. Certains pays le reconnaissent comme un doctorat, et il peut alors donner droit au titre de docteur. Les candidats au DBA doivent généralement justifier d'une expérience professionnelle. Le projet de DBA, est appelé généralement thèse. Il s'agit en France d'un diplôme d'établissement qui n'est pas inscrit au RNCP.
School of education
In the United States and Canada, a school of education (or college of education; ed school) is a division within a university that is devoted to scholarship in the field of education, which is an interdisciplinary branch of the social sciences encompassing sociology, psychology, linguistics, economics, political science, public policy, history, and others, all applied to the topic of elementary, secondary, and post-secondary education. The U.S. has 1,206 schools, colleges and departments of education and they exist in 78 per cent of all universities and colleges.
Master of Education
The Master of Education (MEd or M.Ed. or Ed.M.; Latin Magister Educationis or Educationis Magister) is a master's degree awarded by universities in many countries. This degree in education often includes the following majors: curriculum and instruction, counseling, school psychology, and administration. It is often conferred for educators advancing in their field. Similar degrees (providing qualifications for similar careers) include the Master of Arts in Education (MAEd or M.A.Ed. or M.A.E.
Doctor of Engineering
The Doctor of Engineering (or engineering doctorate) (abbreviated DEng or EngD) is a professional degree awarded in engineering and applied science. An EngD is a terminal degree similar to a PhD in engineering but applicable more in industry rather than in academia. The degree is usually aimed toward working professionals. The DEng/EngD along with the PhD represents the highest academic qualification in engineering, and the successful completion of either in engineering is generally required to gain employment as a full-time, tenure-track university professor or postdoctoral researcher in the field.
Professional degree
A professional degree, formerly known in the US as a first professional degree, is a degree that prepares someone to work in a particular profession, practice, or industry sector often meeting the academic requirements for licensure or accreditation. Professional degrees may be either graduate or undergraduate entry, depending on the profession concerned and the country, and may be classified as bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degrees.
Docteur (titre)
Le titre de docteur (Dr) est décerné aux titulaires du grade universitaire de doctorat. Le terme de docteur vient du verbe latin docēre qui signifie « enseigner » car le diplôme permettait d'enseigner dans les facultés de droit et de théologie des universités du Moyen Âge, alors que le diplôme de licence (licencia docendi) ne permettait d'enseigner que dans les collèges de la faculté des arts (nos actuels lycées). Le titre de docteur est ainsi utilisé comme titre académique depuis plus d'un millénaire en Europe.
Doctor of Letters
Doctor of Letters (D.Litt., Litt.D., Latin: Litterarum Doctor or Doctor Litterarum) also termed "Doctor of Literature" in some countries is a terminal degree in the arts, humanities and social sciences that, depending on the country, is a higher doctorate after the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree or equivalent to a higher doctorate, such as the Doctor of Science (Sc.D. or D.Sc.) or Doctor of Laws (LL.D).
Master of Business Administration
Le Master of Business Administration (MBA) est un diplôme d'études supérieures dans le domaine du marketing, finances, ressources humaines et management. Un diplôme en France porte le même nom. Toutefois, il s'inscrit dans un format totalement différent et ne doit pas être confondu avec cet homologue anglo-saxon. Ce grade universitaire est obtenu en un à deux ans après l’obtention d’un premier grade. Le MBA a été créé aux États-Unis dans les écoles d'administration sous l'intitulé anglais de master's degree in business administration, devenu Master of business administration, en abrégé MBA.
