VellalarLes Vellalars mudaliar (en tamoul : வெள்ளாள முதலியார்) sont à l'origine une caste d'élite du Tamil Nadu de hauts fonctionnaires et grands propriétaires terriens qui se regroupent essentiellement en Inde, plus précisément au Tamil Nadu, au Kerala et dans le nord et l’Est du Sri Lanka (péninsule de Jaffna). Ils constituent depuis des temps immémoriaux, la noblesse tamilLes Vellalars avaient pour usage d'occuper des postes de ministres, d'officiers militaires au sein des administrations et armées des différents royaumes tamils (comme Chera, Chola, Pandya).
KorravaiKotṟavai (), also spelled Kotravai or Korravai, is the goddess of war and victory in the Tamil tradition. She is also the mother goddess and the goddess of fertility, agriculture, and hunters. In the latter form, she is sometimes referred to by other names and epithets in the Tamil tradition of South India and Sri Lanka, such as Atha, Mari, Suli, and Neeli. She was later syncretised with the Hindu goddess of power, Parvati. She is among the earliest documented goddesses in the Tamil Sangam literature, and also found in later Tamil literature.
