Tour du silence
thumb|Tour du silence près de Yazd. Une tour du silence ou dakhmâ (de dakhmag) est une structure circulaire surélevée utilisée pour les rites funéraires des zoroastriens. Elle permet au corps du défunt de ne pas se décomposer à même le sol, mais d'entrer en putréfaction en hauteur. Kushti
The kushti (ˈkuːʃtiː) also known as kosti, kusti and kustig is the sacred girdle worn by invested Zoroastrians around their waists. Along with the sedreh, the kushti is part of the ritual dress of the Zoroastrians. The Avestan term for the sacred thread is aiwyaongana. Kustig is the later Middle Persian term. The use of the kushti may have existed among the prophet Zarathushtra's earliest followers due to their prior familiarity with practices of the proto-Indo-Iranian-speaking peoples, and its Vedic analogue, the yajñopavita.
Petit baronets
The Petit Baronetcy, of Petit Hall on the Island of Bombay, is a title in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 1 September 1890 for the Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist Dinshaw Maneckji Petit. The baronetcy was created with remainder to Framjee Petit, second son of the first Baronet, and the heirs male of his body, failing which to the heirs male of the body of the first Baronet. By Special Act of the Legislative Council of India, all holders of the title were to relinquish their own name upon succession and assume the name of the first Baronet.
Cambay
Cambay (forme francisée) ou Khambhat (forme officielle) (gujarâtî : ખંભાત - hindî : खंभात) est une ville du Gujarat en Inde. Elle est située dans une plaine alluviale, à l'extrémité nord du golfe de Cambay qui se distingue par ses puissantes marées. Son port, autrefois florissant, s'est progressivement envasé, et le commerce maritime a été transféré ailleurs. La forme francisée « Cambay » ou « Cambaye » dérive de la graphie arabe « Kambaya/Kanbaya » du nom « Khambhat/Khambat », lui-même dérivé du sanskrit « Kamboja ».
Godrej family
The Godrej family is an Indian Gujarati Parsi family that manages and largely owns the Godrej Group of company- a conglomerate founded by Ardeshir Godrej and his brother Pirojsha Burjorji Godrej in 1897. It spans sectors as diverse as real estate, consumer products, industrial engineering, appliances, furniture, security and agricultural products. Headed by Adi Godrej alongside his brother, Nadir Godrej, and cousin, Jamshyd Godrej, the family is one of the richest in India; with an estimated net worth of billion as of 2014.
Kashmiri Pandits
The Kashmiri Pandits (also known as Kashmiri Brahmins) are a group of Kashmiri Hindus and a part of the larger Saraswat Brahmin community of India. They belong to the Pancha Gauda Brahmin group from the Kashmir Valley, a mountainous region located within the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmiri Pandits are Hindu Kashmiris native to the Kashmir Valley, and the only remaining Hindu Kashmiris after the large-scale of conversion of the Valley's population to Islam during the medieval times.
Pazend
Pazend (pə'zɛnd) or Pazand (𐭯𐭠𐭰𐭭𐭣; 𐬞𐬀𐬌𐬙𐬌 𐬰𐬀𐬌𐬥𐬙𐬌) is one of the writing systems used for the Middle Persian language. It was based on the Avestan alphabet, a phonetic alphabet originally used to write Avestan, the language of the Avesta, the primary sacred texts of Zoroastrianism. Pazend's principal use was for writing the commentaries (Zend) on and/or translations of the Avesta. The word "Pazend" ultimately derives from the Avestan words paiti zainti, which can be translated as either "for commentary purposes" or "according to understanding" (phonetically).
Tata Group
Tata est un important groupe industriel indien. Le nom du groupe provient de celui de la famille parsie qui l'a fondé et le contrôle toujours, les Tata, originaires de Baroda dans le Gujarat. Le siège social du groupe est basé à Mumbai dans le Maharashtra. Parmi les compagnies du groupe, la plus connue en occident est Tata Motors anciennement Telco (Tata Engineering and Locomotives Ltd) qui produit des automobiles pour le marché indien.
Kayastha
Kayastha (also referred to as Kayasth) denotes a cluster of disparate Indian communities broadly categorised by the regions of the Indian subcontinent in which they were traditionally locatedthe Chitraguptavanshi Kayasthas of North India, the Chandraseniya Kayastha Prabhus of Maharashtra, the Bengali Kayasthas of Bengal and Karanas of Odisha. All of them were traditionally considered "writing castes", who had historically served the ruling powers as administrators, ministers and record-keepers.
Marathi Brahmin
Marathi Brahmins (also known as Maharashtrian Brahmins) are communities native to the Indian state of Maharashtra. They are classified into mainly three sub-divisions based on their places of origin, "Desh", "Karad" and "Konkan". The Brahmin subcastes that come under Maharashtra Brahmins include Deshastha, Chitpavan (Konkanastha), Saraswat, Karhade, and Devrukhe. Maharashtrian Brahmins are native to the Indian state of Maharashtra.
