Bharuch derives its name from the famous Hindu sage Bhrigu. A historical name for Bharuch is 'Bhrigukachchha'. The mythological Bhrigu Rishi was said to be one of the ten sons of Brahma.

Daman et DiuDaman et Diu est un ancien territoire de l'Inde formé à partir de deux anciens comptoirs portugais annexés par l'Inde en décembre 1961 lors de l'invasion de Goa. Tous deux sont enclavés dans le Gujarat de part et d'autre du Golfe de Cambay. Ces deux enclaves faisaient partie du territoire de Goa de 1962 à 1987, date à laquelle celui-ci a accédé au statut d'État. Elles ont ensuite formé un territoire à elles deux, avant d'intégrer le nouveau territoire de Dadra et Nagar Haveli et Daman et Diu, en tant que deux districts distincts.

BhavnagarBhavnagar (gujarâtî : ભાવનગર - hindî : भावनगर) est une ville de l'État du Gujarat en Inde, chef-lieu du district du même nom, et capitale d'un ancien État princier des Indes. Bordée par l'océan Indien, Bhavnagar est située dans la péninsule de Kâthiâwar. Comme à Pondichéry (ainsi que dans beaucoup d'autres villes indiennes), les quartiers ancien et nouveau sont très nettement séparés. Panch-mahal means "five tehsils/talukas" (5 sub-divisions), and refers to the five sub-divisions that were transferred by the Maharaja Jivajirao Scindia of Gwalior State to the British: Godhra, Dahod, Halol, Kalol and Jhalod, Devgadh Baria. The district had a population of 2,390,776 of which 12.51% were urban as of 2001. The district is located on the eastern end of the state.
Chavda dynastyThe Chavda (IAST:Chávaḍá), also spelled Chawda or Chavada was a dynasty which ruled the region of modern-day Gujarat in India, from c. 690 to 942. Variants of the name for the dynasty include Chapotkatas, Chahuda and Chávoṭakas. During the seventh century, Panchasar was the capital of the Chavda ruler Jayaśekhara. In c. 697, Panchasar was attacked and Jayaśekhara was killed. His wife had fled and she gave birth to Vanraja, who would go on to be the founder (746 or 765) of the city of Aṇahilaváḍa and most prominent ruler of the dynasty.
District de JamnagarJamnagar District is a district of Gujarat in Western India. Its headquarters are located in the eponymous city of Jamnagar. It hosts the production facilities of large Indian companies such as Reliance. Among its attractions are several palaces, a Marine National Park and a Bird Sanctuary, known as Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary. In 2013, Devbhoomi Dwarka district was carved out of the western part of the district. Jamnagar was founded by Jam Rawalji Jadeja in 1540 A.D. as the capital of the Princely State of Nawanagar.
