InannaInanna is an ancient Mesopotamian goddess of love, war, and fertility. She is also associated with beauty, sex, divine law, and political power. She was known by the Akkadian Empire, Babylonians, and Assyrians as Ishtar (and occasionally the logogram ). Her primary title was "the Queen of Heaven", and she was the patron goddess of the Eanna temple at the city of Uruk, which was her early main cult center.
MittaniLe Mittani (ou Mitanni) était un royaume du Nord du Proche-Orient ancien dont le centre était situé dans le Nord-Est de la Syrie actuelle, dans le triangle du Khabour, à peu près entre le et le avant notre ère. Il était peuplé en majorité de Hourrites, peuple qui doit son nom actuel à la région appelée Hourri, qui semble recouvrir une grande partie de la Haute Mésopotamie. Son élite et sa dynastie régnante, bien que hourrites, préservent cependant des traits archaïques indo-aryens.
