Westhoughton

Westhoughton (wɛstˈhɔːtən ) is a town and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, Greater Manchester, England, southwest of Bolton, east of Wigan and northwest of Manchester. Within the boundaries of the historic county of Lancashire, Westhoughton was once a centre for coal mining, cotton-spinning and textile manufacture. It had a population of 24,974 at the 2011 Census.

Horwich

Horwich (ˈhɒrɪtʃ ) is a town and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. within the Historic County Boundaries of Lancashire, It is southeast of Chorley, northwest of Bolton and northwest of Manchester. It lies at the southern edge of the West Pennine Moors with the M61 motorway passing close to the south and west. At the 2011 Census, Horwich had a population of 20,067. Horwich emerged in the Middle Ages as a hunting chase.

Tyldesley

Tyldesley (ˈtɪlzliː) is a market town in Metropolitan Borough of Wigan in Greater Manchester, England. Within the boundaries of the historic county of Lancashire, it is north of Chat Moss near the foothills of the West Pennine Moors, southeast of Wigan and northwest of Manchester. At the United Kingdom Census 2001, the Tyldesley built-up area subdivision, excluding Shakerley, had a population of 16,142. The remains of a Roman road passing through the township on its ancient course between Coccium (Wigan) and Mamucium (Manchester) were evident during the 19th century.

Bolton (Grand Manchester)

Bolton est une ville britannique située dans le comté urbain du Grand Manchester, Angleterre. Sa population est estimée à (Borough : ). Cet ancien bastion industriel du textile est aujourd'hui la plus importante ville d'Angleterre ne possédant pas le statut de « cité ». Voisine des marécages des Pennines Occidentales, Bolton se trouve à au nord-ouest de Manchester. Elle est cernée de plusieurs faubourgs et villages regroupés aujourd'hui au sein du Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, dont Bolton est naturellement le chef-lieu.

Lancashire

Le Lancashire , ou Lancastre, parfois abrégé Lancs, est un comté en Angleterre. Le nom de l'ancienne ville principale du comté est Lancastre. Le chef-lieu actuel est Preston. Jusqu'en 1974, Liverpool et Manchester faisaient partie du comté, jusqu'à ce que le Local Government Act 1972 crée les comtés de Merseyside et du Grand Manchester, comtés métropolitains. De même, jusqu'en 1974, la péninsule de Furness et une partie du Lake District constituaient une exclave du comté appelée « Lancashire Beyond the Sands », jusqu'à ce que ce même acte de 1972 crée le comté de Cumbria.
