Résumé

Fiber Bragg Gratings were fabricated using a 193-nm-ArF-excimer laser with ac index changes of 0.6×10E-4 and 2.2×10E-4 in pristine and H2-loaded Bi-Al-SiO2 fibers. Thermal annealing of the FBGs was investigated using continuous isochronal annealing.

Laser à fluorure d'argon

Un laser à fluorure d'argon, ou laser ArF, est un type particulier de laser à excimère (plus exactement, ici, de laser à exciplexe). Ce type de laser produit un rayonnement électromagnétique cohérent par dissociation d'un complexe excité ArF* de fluor et d'argon formé en absorbant de l'énergie d'une source extérieure : 2 Ar + F + énergie → 2 ArF* ArF* → ArF + hν à 2 ArF → 2 Ar + F Le complexe ArF* n'est stable qu'à l'état excité (c'est le sens du mot exciplexe) et se dissocie immédiatement en argon et fluor dès qu'il est retombé à son état fondamental, après émission de photons correspondant à la transition énergétique, à savoir un rayonnement électromagnétique à de longueur d'onde, c'est-à-dire dans l'ultraviolet.

An excimer lamp (or excilamp) is a source of ultraviolet light based on spontaneous emission of excimer (exciplex) molecules. Excimer lamps are quasimonochromatic light sources operating over a wide range of wavelengths in the ultraviolet (UV) and vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) spectral regions. Operation of an excimer lamp is based on the formation of excited dimers (excimers), which spontaneously transiting from the excited state to the ground state result in the emission of UV-photons.

Laser à excimère

Un laser à excimère, parfois appelé (et de façon souvent plus appropriée) laser à exciplexe, est un type de laser ultraviolet couramment utilisé en chirurgie oculaire et en photolithographie dans l'industrie des semiconducteurs. Un excimère est un dimère qui n'est stable qu'à l'état excité et se dissocie à l'état fondamental, tandis qu'un exciplexe est un complexe qui n'est stable qu'à l'état excité et se dissocie à l'état fondamental ; un excimère est donc un cas particulier d'exciplexe.
